A Creative Partnership & Community Interest Company

Purple Peacock Community Interest Company first took shape when five local creatives—Darren Neave, Dale Wells, Lucy Mager, Rosemarie Cawkwell and Steven Foulkes—recognized a gap in Grimsby’s cultural landscape. Each brought a distinct background, and over a series of informal gatherings in early 2024, they sketched out a shared vision: to create a sustainable, not-for-profit platform to create opportunities for neurodivergent and marginalised artists, in a national level.

By early 2025 the group had formalised their partnership, pooling their skills to draft a structure which balanced artistic ambition with social impact. They navigated the registration process together, securing endorsement from local funders and advice from Grimsby Council’s cultural development team. With official CIC status granted, Purple Peacock emerged ready to pilot public workshops, exhibitions and open-studio events—each initiative designed to reflect the founding directors’ commitment to inclusivity and individual creativity and to put Grimsby firmly on the map as a thriving hub for artistic expression of all forms.
